Pete turns inward reflecting on his
past memories in a way that we can all relate to. He’s somewhat self-deprecating in the chorus
lyric, “Skeletons in my closet, coming to haunt me, the fool.” The guitar solo is an exceptional
series of melodic lines phrased with poignancy. The end of the song feels somewhat abrupt,
leaving the listener hanging, just like the lyrics profess the regret of a lost romantic moment and
the yearning for more.
