“Mojave” is the second of a series of Dark Americana albums by Los Angeles veteran Stuart Pearson. The first single, (“You Don’t See Me “Jimmy Crack Corn”) has gotten over 25,000 streams since its debut on Spotify.

“Mojave” is a more modern take on Americana music than its predecessor (“Dark Americana: Stories and Songs”). While that album infused a slightly psychedelic slant on antique-styled American folk music, “Mojave”, through more modern beats and organic and electronic instruments, reflects the creaking, ruined, rundown pulse of the abandoned buildings littering today’s Mojave desert.

While still steeped in the dusty American west, there are hints of the Decemberists, Tom Waits, Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen thrown in a bucket with ghosts of the 1800’s. Like his previous Dark Americana album, “Mojave” is full of murder ballads, songs of bad decisions, bad people and bad consequences. It’s dangerous folk music; Gothic Country threatening to follow you home.

“Mojave” is available for purchase on Bandcamp – https://stuartpearson1.bandcamp.com/releases and currently streams on all major streaming services.
