Sublime soul artist ‘Maria Angeli’ from Rome made an awesome album, which we have the title-track ‘Anyhow’ in Formula Indie the November 24th!

Born in the Eternal City of Rome into a family of renowned artists and
film-makers, from an early age Maria Angeli was destined to a life of art
and music, to which she completely immersed herself by training in the
best performing schools of Rome and London, where she moved to, at
the young age of seventeen.
After participating in various theatrical productions, short films and
advertising campaigns, in 2001 Maria devotes herself to music and
songwriting, her evocative and sensual voice, moving between elektrohouse and deep-house, it doesn’t take long before Maria grabs the
attention of Swedish DJ/producer Pawel Kobak, with whom she
collaborates on two deep house floor stompers; “You Got Me” and
“Looking After No.1” (Marendadisc, Manuel Perez). Their collaboration
goes on until 2009 with the EP “Sphinx” (Lace Recordings).
A chance meeting in 2007 with acclaimed English DJ/producer KosmetiQ,
leads to the release of the sought out album “Elektric Red”, with three
deep elektro songs featuring Maria’s sultry vocals, including “Modern
Life”, which climed up the Top-Ten U.K. Upfront Club Chart, including
remixes by Detail and Stereovox. In the meantime their work force keeps
on going, and their collaboration brings more fruits such as the two track
EP entitled “Coffee groves”, and the deep sensual single release “The
Pleasure” (Qritikal Records), and later on “Fall For You” (Um Records).
Their underground floor stompers keep on sweeping the clubs around
Europe, making Maria Angeli the star of the international dance floor
nights.
2011 is Maria’s debut of her first own production which gives life to the
album “7 Billion”, written with composer and guitarist Bruce Lister and
recorded at Britannia Row Studios London, the work is a journey of folk
blues and country atmospheres, intimate lyrics and sweet but intense
melodies, with a remix of Nightmares on wax and the collaborations of
Mark Cherrie, Gabriella Swallow and Lizzie Ball.
The same year Maria collaborates with the world renown Italian
DJ/Producers Neverdogs and in 2012 their deep tech house tracks are
born; “No Reflection” (Idea Records), “Deep Like You” (Digital Traffik) and
in 2015 “Atlantis” (Descendig Order), all receiveing enthusiastic acclaim
which re-confirms Maria’s extreme elegance and compositional
technique, whose voice takes on unprecedented nuances able to match
brave and diversified productions.
Noticed in 2015 by Italian Producer Andrea Pellizzari for his label
Villahangar Records, Maria Angeli works on “Piece of my heart”
(Soundsquare) with the remix of talented DJ/producer Mavee aka Matt
Sawyer, with whom she also collaborates on “Tomorrow”, with a video
directed and produced by Pellizzari in Formentera, who creates the
perfect dreamy Balearic moon-like images that trun through the entire
story.
For the same label, Maria also works alongside DJ/producer Airbas on the
acclaimed, deep pogressive sounds of “Take me back” and “Always
Dreamed”.
In 2019 the single “Bette Davis” made in collaboration with Andrea de
Sica becomes part of the soundtrack of world renowed Netflix series
“Baby”, song that puts Maria on more mainstream success.
In 2020 Maria Angeli dedicates herself to her new album “ANYHOW”,
arranged and produced by Andrea Filippucci with the the participation of
Francesco de Palma for the song “Caught up in a Rush”, Alessandro
Omiciuolo, Layer Bows, Filippo de Laura and with mixing and mastering
by Eugenio Vatta.
Maria steers towards melodic pop alternative, pulling us with her sensual
voice bringin fragments of love, autobiographical memories and
introspective atmospheres where she delicately discloses a journey of
life, with distant memories and stories from the past. All this gives life to
a trilogy of videos conceived in the form of short art films, the first of
which is “Caught up in a Rush”, with unpublished materials and the
careful direction of Matteo Zenini, confirming that indissoluble link
between art and music which recognizes Maria Angeli’s experienced
talenti, making her a profound and unforgettable artist.
