Uncover the Journey of ‘Samy’ in a Virtuoso performance through the album ‘The Odyssey’, Start this with the first track ‘Odysseus’ in Formula Indie the November 6th!

The music I create is meant to connect with my audience in the sense that everybody is sailing through their own journey, their own adventure, which is especially the case with this EP “The Odyssey”. The Odyssey Ep is obviously based on the original story made by Homer in about 725BC in Ancient Greece. I did my best to modernise it and provide things that would personalise it to my own Odyssey. It really is the attention to detail and to the original story that makes this EP for me. The EP’s story is finding the parallels between my Odyssey, and The Odyssey of Odysseus.

Again, this release is important to me as well as to the world I’m creating through my music, because it really initiates everything that’s to come in the very near future. I mainly get inspired to try out new ideas and sounds by listening to artists like Kanye, Riles, and Mac Miller, as they’ve all had success and notoriety by experimenting and trying out new things. Through my own music, I try to show and describe my world as best as I can, whilst also trying have it relate with the listeners’ individual worlds.

I was born in Antwerp, Belgium and started making my own music at the age of 12. It started when I was 6, and played my first songs on the piano, which is the first I really understood, which transcends to the music I make today. Although born in Belgium, I am Algerian, Dutch and French and currently live in Toronto. Everything from the first note you hear from my songs to this website is made by me in my room. I produce, write, record, mix, master, publish and promote everything I make.I am heavily inspired by the likes of Kanye West, Jay-Z, Dave, Stormzy, and Riles. My first official release was “While You Wait…” which lead to the release of my debut mixtape “Le Petit Prince”. After that a sequence of songs were released to set up the big release coming after those songs. My latest project is my debut ep “The odyssey”, which is what i’m hoping will be the project to launch me to the next step.
