What is your earliest memory connected to music?

I must have been about two or three years old, sitting on a small stool very close to the television, watching Prince’s music video ‘When Doves Cry’. I should mention that I was born in Bucharest, Romania, during the dictatorship, so we didn’t have MTV. My family in the USA and Germany sent us VHS tapes with recordings from MTV, and I watched the video over and over again on the video recorder. I was so excited about Prince’s music.

How did your passion for creating music begin?

My parents are in the film industry. My father was a cameraman and my mother was an editor. They always took me with them to the film studios or to the set when a film was being shot. I was always surrounded by artists, and when I was in the huge recording studios there, I always admired the singers. That’s how my passion for music was awakened, and of course for acting and films too, but my heart always beat faster for music.

What’s the story behind your current music project?

That’s a really good question. I’ve been making pop music for many, many years and work a lot as a producer and composer for films, series, etc. But I originally started out with rap and got my first record deal at the age of 15. A few years ago, one of my label partners asked me about rap and I produced a few things for various major labels. That’s when I realised that I kind of miss rap… Then, at the beginning of 2025, I was sitting in the studio listening to Hyphy rap from the Bay Area, California, you know… and I thought, I really want to do this style in German, because no one in Germany has done it yet. Within half an hour, everything was ready. I had a friend from Los Angeles with me in the studio who quickly rapped the hook for me because I always heard a female voice in my head for the hook, and tadaa!

But I didn’t want to be alone on the track, I wanted to feature other artists. So I contacted my long-time friend Smoky, who is a very good rapper and well known in the rap game, and rap legend B-Tight. When we listened to the track, we thought that a female rapper would make it sound even better, so we added rapper and singer Bo Derah to the track. That’s how the first song, “Das Ist Sick” (“This Is Sick” in English), came about. It has now turned into a complete project. We now have about ten tracks, seven of which have already been released, and there is much, much more to come.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?

Time travel crossover! :-)))))

90s rap paired with contemporary sound.

What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?

I would say the transition from hip hop to pop music back then. Writing and producing pop songs and collaborating with artists and producers worldwide has taken my work to the next level. The discipline and professionalism that prevails in this genre is different.

What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?

Definitely my imagination first and foremost. The song is created 100% in my head first. I record all the individual parts with my voice on my smartphone and then transfer them to Cubase.

Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?

I can definitely say RAYE at the moment. I’ve been following her career from the beginning and I have to say she’s a real artist. Her strength and perseverance, after all the struggles and negativity she’s had to go through with the music industry, shows that she can’t be anything else. As an artist, you have to have a lot of strength if you want to be one.

How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?

My personal experience has influenced my music in that I have learned to be mentally very strong and to be able to deal with difficult situations in life and to keep going, even when the path seems impossible. I emigrated from Romania to Germany with my family, and it takes a lot of strength to leave everything behind and start again from scratch somewhere else.

What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?

I hope that I can accompany listeners through their best and hardest times. Whether they are laughing or crying, I hope that my music gives them strength in every situation. The message is that life goes on and everything will be fine, you just have to hang in there. It may sound a bit clichéd, but I can say from experience that it’s true.

What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?

What music has taught me is that if you stick with it and don’t give up, you will discover ultimate freedom and you can remain a child your whole life. Only art can show you what true happiness is.

What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?

Maybe Coachella or Glastonbury festival? To be honest, I haven’t really thought about it much, because I give the same energy and get the same energy back from the audience, regardless of whether it’s a big stage or a small one.

If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?

Of course, I would have loved to collaborate with Prince; I’m a huge fan of his music. The guy was a genius. He had the biggest influence on my artistic development. Missy Elliot is another artist I would love to work with; she’s extremely creative. And, of course, RAYE; she’s absolutely unique. I love her energy and her artistic soul.
