Formula Indie Sessions _ Interview with Silvio 1976

What is your earliest memory connected to music?
I grew up in the era when my parents played Abba, Elvis Presley, and all that cool 60s and 70s music.
How did your passion for creating music begin?
Actually, it happened relatively late, around the age of 45. I’d had the dream of it since my teens, but couldn’t afford it back then.
What’s the story behind your current music project?
The story behind the current projects is basically always the same; I simply want to give listeners 3-4 minutes of something they can immerse themselves in and use for their own purposes.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
I would describe my style as deep house with a melodic, melancholic but also cheerful touch, accompanied by catchy vocals.
What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
Less is more; instead of getting lost in complicated, elaborate arrangements, I now try to create a song that reaches the listeners with as few elements as possible.
What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
Actually, I only use my DAW and a piano keyboard, even though I never learned to play the piano. I do everything by feel, or rather, by ear.
Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
I think Jan Blomqvist and Markus d Ambrosi are pretty cool.
How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
EDM emerged around the age of 20 with the many techno parties. This had a big impact on me, as I was always interested in how DJs played their records, or rather, how a track was created from scratch.
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
That they can simply relax to a beautiful track, switch off, and forget all the worries and anxieties of modern life. Or, of course, dance or exercise with joy, or simply enjoy life.
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
Patience is one of the most important virtues, and you have to put expectations very much in the background. I make music that I primarily enjoy, and if someone else likes it too, all the better.
What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
I’m more of a person who prefers to work behind the scenes and doesn’t want to be in the public eye. Therefore, this question is difficult to answer.
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
Yes, there are many very good producers, but I’m thinking more of someone who isn’t so well-known, but simply has a firm grasp of their craft of producing.
Where can our listeners follow and support your music?

Looking toward the future, what’s your dream for the next chapter of your musical journey?
It would be wonderful if I could reach a large number of listeners with my music and perhaps a larger label would take notice of my songs.
What do you hope listeners will discover about you along the way?
I try to provide my listeners with a new track every month and hope that they will get to know me a little better as a result, because you can learn a lot about a person through music.
