Formula Indie Sessions _ Interview with Honier

What is your earliest memory connected to music?
I’m not entirely sure, but it’s likely a memory linked to attending church. However, setting religion aside, the music television program — MTV — was a major early influence for me.
How did your passion for creating music begin?
It began when I managed to combine two homemade recordings: one using a guitar simulator software and the other using just a cell phone recorder for my vocal track.
What’s the story behind your current music project?
The current project I completed is the single “Terra do Nunca” (Neverland), which was inspired by a WhatsApp group with the same name. Regarding a project currently under construction, the story is that I had stopped recording for a few weeks, so I decided to return to my activities, which has so far resulted in 5 instrumental tracks.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
A fun sound driven by distorted guitars
What is one thing you’ve learned that completely changed the way you make music?
I think it was learning to listen to more music to gain a deeper knowledge of guitar chords.
What tools, instruments, or software are essential in your creative process?
I’ve been using Guitar Rig 4 (or 5) with my Epiphone Les Paul – Special II model guitar
Which indie artist or song are you loving right now?
Indie? Well, I’m not sure if they fit the strict indie category, but lately I’ve been listening to one album in particular: “Doppelgänger” by CURVE.
How have your personal experiences influenced your music and artistic vision?
I haven’t necessarily had a specific personal experience that motivated me to make music, but I will let you know if I do.
What emotions or messages do you hope listeners take from your work?
I don’t work with fixed themes, but I believe listeners will leave with certain notions about solidarity, the universe, disappointments in love, and deception/falsity.
What’s the most important lesson music has taught you so far?
That getting started isn’t that difficult—unless you’re a person with a lot of money on hand to invest in your career.
What is a dream venue or festival you would love to perform at?
I hadn’t thought about it yet, but to start, any safe venue where I could step onto a stage to show my musical art to everyone would be great.
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
I confess I hadn’t thought about it. But if you mean composing with another band, I think I would enjoy making music with The B-52s, Oasis, and Curve.
Where can our listeners follow and support your music? (Website,Spotify, IG, links)
