Bad Guy tells the story of a rich, handsome and attractive man whose suave exterior conceals a soul that finds its prime pleasure by “breaking hearts”. The track features a pulsating bass line, energetic drums and finger picked guitar. The dark, melancholic and sensual atmosphere created by these instruments reflects the character of its subject – the bad guy.

A mellow and cheerful synth contrasts heavily with the darker instruments, providing the song with lighter undertones. Accentuating this, Inês’ vocals project a calm, nonchalant vibe. They embody the role of a detached onlooker by softly narrating the events from an objective perspective.

Woven together, the mysterious electric strings, the aloof pop-y synth and the serene vocals create a lively Indie song that explores the bad guy archetype through opposing lenses.

Forgotten Garden are an Indie band (duo+guests) with dark wave tendencies. Their songs are generally sad, dark and haunting. Vocals are provided by Inês whilst Danny plays most of the instruments. Forgotten Garden are often compared to The Cure. Both Ines and Danny live in the north of Scotland although Ines comes from a far sunnier place – Portugal! They started working together in 2019.
