‘Time of Day’ shows off her soulful and impressive vocal range, whilst capturing the beginning of a torturous journey of reclaiming boundaries as she proclaims…

“You say you’re in too deep but I can’t give you the answers… You can’t control me, I need to own me…”

The single follows previous hit, ‘Not Anymore’ released in 2021 (added to Spotify playlists, ‘Our Music Feed’, ‘This Goes Pop’ and ‘Female Voices – Roadie Music’) as Gallo continues her journey of self empowerment.

‘Time Of Day’ captures a moment of realization of Gallo’s own self worth, and explores the ramifications of what happens when somebody continually chips away at personal space. Through her evocative lyrics, Gallo acknowledges that time and energy are sacred elements of being human.

“I was at breaking point, screaming to be heard. I had been under the illusion that I could make things work with a partner, but it suddenly clicked that if they cannot respect my need for personal boundaries, nothing is ever going to get better.” – April Gallo.

This single will mark the fourth release for the soul artist from Brunswick, Melbourne, following her previous singles ‘Not Anymore’, ‘What You Lost’ and ‘Help Yourself’. Recorded and produced by kb808 (Acaxia, Jess Makaveli), the track features the talent of Sampa the Great guitarist Kumar Shome (bass), Jeremy Bennett (Tones and I, Nai Palm) on keys and Luke McIvor on drums.
