Pennan Brae is a Vancouver-based singer-songwriter whose music is influenced by music of the 1970s
and 80s. 2021 welcomes Pennan’s 8th & 9th albums,
‘Lit’ & ‘Cinema’.
Cinema was mixed by producer Kirk Kelsey (The
Smashing Pumpkins). The album features lead singles
‘A Nightmare’, ‘Mississippi Love Song’ and ‘Weed &
Whisky Women (Distilled Mix)’. ‘Lit’ is a 10-song rock
and roll journey which kicks off with the lively ‘Won’t
You Come My Way’, hits the anthemic ‘Tearin’ My
Heart In 2’ midway and concludes with lead single,
‘Passing Fad’. Recorded at Blue Light Studio in East
Vancouver, the album follows Pennan’s ‘2 Below
0’ single which received airplay on 125 AAA and
College Radio stations. During Pennan’s ‘The Astronot’ phase of 4 successive albums, he recorded with
legendary drummer Steve Ferrone (Tom Petty, Eric
Clapton) and INXS bassist Garry Gary Beers. The
recordings were then mastered by Grammy-winning
engineer Sean Magee at Abbey Road Studio.
A big fan of screenwriting, Pennan has written and
co-produced 2 films; ‘The Astronot’, which streams
on Amazon Prime and ‘2 Below 0’ which is currently
touring on the film festival circuit.
He’s a big fan of music and film with his YouTube
Channel streaming over 50 music videos.
