‘Real Things’ by the incredible songwriter ‘Jaayns’ from Leeds is a true resounding success with a unique voice, ready to play the November 18th in Formula Indie!

New single from Singer, Songwriter Jaayns released on No Such Thing Records on 17th September 2021. Written by Jaayns and co-produced with Leeds based producer Ben Matravers.

This is the first official single release for Jaayns since signing with independent alternative Northern label No Such Thing Records which connects artists across genres and artistic mediums on a number of collaborations and installations. The cover artwork for Real Things has been produced through such a collaboration with Manchester contemporary artist Ella Fradgley and incorporates the lyrics of the song into the tapestry of pen marks of Ellas signature style.

Real Things has a call back to 90s indie / americana songs such as Toms Diner – Suzanne Vega mixed with electronic layers and sounds. The song is reflecting on how society/social media pressures can stop us being who we really are for fear for putting a foot wrong, not being perfect or out of fear of being judged not good enough.

Leeds based singer & songwriter – Jaayns creates melodic alternative music from her home studio in Leeds and through collaborations with other artists, writers and producers.

Her music is Alternative-Electro, with layered melodies, vocals, synths and beats. Influenced by artists such as Nao, Bjork, Caroline Polachek, St Vincent and Banks. She works on different collaborations to explore alt genres of music as an art form.
