John Ellwand channels the nostalgic, heady tones of the heavy hitters of rock. And yet, he has created something unique with this own modernistic approach. Hailing from the eclectic seaside town of New Brighton, Ellwand stradlles many genres. As he tips his cap to the forefathers of rock with one hand, he embraces the contemporary with the other. Using an alchemy of influences that range from the likes of Queens Of The Stone Age, Led Zepplin, Royal Blood & Tame Impala.

Ellwand’s combonation of guitar-driven instrumentation with pounding drums and bold vocals makes his music catchy, genuine and completely captivating. – Electric Lighthouse Studios (2021)

John Says

Roots Of Love is an alchemy of intermate experiences drawn from
my personal life and other stories from close friends. It’s not just one persons prospective.
I wrote it with the intention to provocative first and fore most. I knew writing something on the subject matter of sex could draw different points of view depending on the listener. Some may be offended, others may find it exhilarating. It’s not for me to decide, once I’ve created something and released it to the world, it no longer becomes mine. The artist I admire are the ones who don’t spell it out.
