– FALSE GHARIAL have released their sophomore new EP TRAGIC DEMISE on all
streaming platforms.
Recorded at the TNT Music Production Studio in Singapore, TRAGIC DEMISE is produced, mixed and
engineered by Ah Boy. The new EP portrays one’s struggle with dark emotions in the face of tragedy.
The flow of songs in the albums outlines the process of going from anger, depression and ultimately
becoming indifferent to one’s own death under circumstances that show how powerless is human
condition. The tracks come off a process of exploration once the band switched to 7 string guitars. Riffs
were written with punch and groove in mind, with some influences outside metal making their way in
the writing process such as jazz rock and even Hindustani (Indian) classical music.
About the band
False Gharial started in Singapore in 2015, with the firm intention to bring some madness in a very
polished society. Starting out as a cover band with interpretations of classics from Metallica,
Megadeth, Paradise Lost and Pantera, False Gharial began making waves in local scene’s gigs. Led by
Hatem (Guitars, vocals) and Faisal (bass), the band wrote its first songs in a straight forward heavy
metal style leading to recording of first demo “Birth”. With some lineup changes, arrived Aditya
(drums) and Francesco (Guitars), and the band went back to composing. False Gharial draws a wide
variety of influences, Grindcore, Death Metal, Heavy-Speed, Math Core and Djent scene to name a
few. Influences outside metal play a great role, such as jazz funk and jazz rock and also classical Hin.
These influences can be seen sprinkled across the varied songs composed by them.
