Celebrating the release of his second full-length album; There Used To Be A Future, For Now, Here’s
Zack Tomasko, young artist/producer Zack Tomasko brings his unique blend of instrumentation,
exploration, and thematic imagery to this offering. Blending influences from Motown, Disco, and
Theatre, Zack Tomasko creates a modern, contemporary sound with that blend of the nostalgic.
Following the re-issue of his debut album; What You Hold Sacred Is Holding You Down, we see
growth, maturity, and another level of musical professionalism as this self-produced artist remains
humble and reserved in the light of early success. Now with this new offering, Zack has his sights set
on performance, licensing, and label support.
As the fans begin to amass, Zack Tomasko finds increased recognition throughout the United States,
including his hometown of Youngstown, Ohio, and a surprise following in Brazil. Given the
syncopated rhythms presented on There Used To Be a Future… and the intricate instrumentation,
the shift from the mainstream leads to varying market attention. This response to his elaborate
productions has given him press in Brazilian & European publications and favorable reviews from
Moon Rocket Records, among others.
Asked about his Rock influences blended with the Motown feel, Zack offers; “Rock music wasn’t
broken. I am trying to write rock music but make it sound like something nobody has heard before.”
So why disco, show tunes, Cabaret, and Motown? “The seventies were the closest period to where
art almost won. The music had plenty of potencies there, I want to carry it on, but make it
individual.”
A versatile musician, Zack Tomasko has been writing songs for 16 years while focusing on drums
throughout this time. From there the love of making music has led Zack to play guitar and bass for
ten years and piano for three. A graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Music Production &
Composition, Zack possesses an uncanny ability to feel what sound will fit best for any melody. This
understanding and appreciation for what each instrument can accomplish have allowed Zack to
orchestrate complex and sophisticated melodies and harmonies while his music tells beautiful
narratives, using metaphor and imagery in his lyrics.
