‘Suffocate’ is not a political song , although it was a benefit single for Medical Aid for Palestine, as at the time that was prevalent on Sharon’s mind. It is meant to to conjure up the feelings that we have, compared to people who are in far worse situations. It is meant to conjure up the dangers and the emotions. “I hope you suffocate” refrain is not meant as a threat, but as an emotion, to those with so much money that is becomes pointless. It’s a song of rebellion against all kinds of physical and psychological violence. It’s a cry of hope for those who are suffering, a call to action to find the strength and courage to rebel, to be reborn, and build a better future.She’s currently working on my first EP which will be out soon.
