Otago-based Zimbabwe-born rapper ‘TîMMY the FIRST’ is making a striking statement with heartfelt protest track ‘THRONE.’ This single, born out of frustration with the international political climate, is as powerful as it is addictive.Having developed his edgy and deeply personal style across his three years in the Dunedin music scene, TîMMY wrote his first pass of ‘THRONE’ as a frenzied response to racial injustices taking place around the world. “As I watched the protests and the intense energy of this movement,” TîMMY notes, “I couldn’t stop wondering; will this ever stop? Will anything ever change?”In ‘THRONE,’ TîMMY pays tribute to generations of black activists whilst, at the same time, confronting his own relationship to the world around him. The single isn’t just a protest against injustice, but also a protest against inaction. Discover that the 15th February in Formula Indie

“Mind in a Maze” by ‘Nasmore’ is a bold odyssey that leads straight into the center of the mind’s eye, fearlessly diving into the thoughts, feelings, and emotions that build us up and break us down – “Mind in a Maze” embraces the confusion we experience & turns it into cathartic art reminding us of Dan Brown’s novels. As lyrically thought-provoking as it is authentically captivating to listen to, “Mind in a Maze” takes on challenging themes like depression & mental health struggles, the hyper-medicated state of humanity, simulation theory, the impact of religion in society, and the pain of losing the grip on our self-identity – it’s a powerful single designed to hold the mirror up to our society and reflect on what we see is missing.
